Huế 39a7:00 local guide & driver will pick up you at the hotel’s lobby and then depart for Hue. On the way, you will stop at Hai Van pass to have a spectacular view back along the coast to Da Nang. We visit the Hue Citadel and Imperial City, which will take us about 2 hours. The ancient citadel reflects the pomp and ceremony of the dynastic rulers as well as the scars of many years of turmoil, both ancient and modern (the Royal Citadel was badly damaged in the latter stages of the war) but retains a sense of grace and majesty even today. We stop at Dong Ba market which is another of the must see sites in Hue, the stalls are teeming with color and a great place to catch a glimpse of everyday life. Have lunch in a local restaurant. Then we board our dragon boat for a cruise upstream the legendary Perfume River to visit Thien Mu (Celestial Lady) pagoda. Continue on to visit the royal tombs of Khai Dinh or Tu Duc. These are two among the 13 kings of the Nguyen Dynasty which lasted from 1802 until 1945. After having viewed the splendid landscaped gardens and ornate architecture of the kings’ final resting places we return to Hoi An.
